How It Works — Vacation Club Promotional Packages Explained
How Vacation Club Promotional Packages Work
Vacation club promotional packages are deeply discounted all-inclusive resort stays offered through a resort’s own vacation club program. The resort gives you a real vacation at wholesale pricing. In exchange, you and your partner attend a single 90–120 minute presentation about the resort’s optional membership program during your stay.
That’s the entire arrangement. No hidden fees, no bait-and-switch, no obligation to buy anything. Your promotional rate is locked in the moment you sign the reservation agreement — whether you join the membership program or not.
Here’s the full process from start to finish.
Step 1: Check If You Qualify
These promotions are offered to specific guest profiles. The qualification requirements are set by the resort, not by us. Here’s what you’ll need:
Couple requirement: You must be a married or cohabitating couple. Single travelers cannot qualify. At least one partner must be between 28 and 70 years old at the time of the presentation.
Income: Combined annual household income of $60,000 USD or more.
Employment: At least one partner must be full-time employed with a legally recorded job. Part-time employment does not qualify. Retirees are accepted only if one partner holds a qualifying full-time job — pensions and retirement income alone do not qualify.
Credit card: At least one valid personalized major credit card — Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover. Digital wallets, corporate cards, extension cards, and debit cards (including debit-as-credit) are not accepted.
Citizenship: U.S. citizen (excluding Puerto Rico) or Canadian citizen (excluding Quebec/Montreal). At least one partner must be a natural-born citizen with birth certificate or passport as proof.
ID and language: Valid photo ID for both partners. Both must speak, read, and write fluent English or Spanish and be able to sign a legally binding agreement without a translator.
Our AI booking agent can walk you through qualification in a few minutes — no paperwork, no long phone calls.
Step 2: Pick Your Resort and Dates
We work with multiple luxury resort properties across Mexico. Each offers a different experience:
- Cancun Hotel Zone — Boutique adults-only resort. Best for couples wanting Cancun beach, nightlife, and gourmet dining.
- Riviera Maya Eco Resort — Nature-focused family resort with cenotes and a water park. Best for families wanting something unique.
- Playa del Carmen Beachfront — Large family resort with waterparks, 8 pools, and 5th Avenue access. Best for families wanting maximum activities.
- Cabo San Lucas Clifftop — Dramatic Pacific views, whale watching, Land’s End sunsets. Best for couples and families wanting Baja’s outdoor adventure scene.
You choose your exact travel dates. We confirm real-time availability and give you the exact total cost before you commit. No open-dated vouchers, no “to be determined” pricing.
Step 3: Sign and Pay
Once your dates and resort are confirmed, you receive a complete reservation agreement via DocuSign. This document includes your exact check-in and check-out dates, room type, total cost, qualification requirements, and all terms and conditions.
Read it carefully. This is the legally binding document — not anything said on the phone, in chat, or on this website.
Payment is processed securely after you sign. You’ll receive a confirmation with your reservation details.
Step 4: Arrive and Enjoy
Check in at the resort. A $750 USD refundable guarantee hold will be placed on your credit card — this is a temporary authorization, not a charge. It’s released when you check out after meeting all terms.
Contact the hotel concierge to schedule your 90–120 minute presentation. Important scheduling rules: the presentation cannot take place on the first or last day of your stay, not on December 25th or January 1st, and you cannot have other appointments the same day.
Attend the presentation with your partner, listen to the membership offer, make your own decision, and spend the rest of your vacation enjoying the resort at your locked-in promotional rate.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a timeshare? The resorts we work with operate vacation club membership programs. During your stay, you attend a presentation about that program. Some people call these “timeshare presentations” — the concept is similar. The key difference: you’re staying at the actual resort property, not in a sales office somewhere else. And you are under zero obligation to purchase anything.
What’s the catch? The catch is the 90–120 minute presentation. That’s it. The resort gives you a steep discount because they want the opportunity to present their membership program to qualified guests. Many people attend, say “no thanks,” and enjoy the rest of their trip. Your promotional rate is fully guaranteed regardless of your decision.
Can I bring my family? Depends on the resort. The Cancun property is adults-only (18+). The other three resorts welcome families — the Playa del Carmen and eco resort packages include 2 kids in the base rate, and the Cabo property allows kids at additional nightly cost. See individual resort pages for details.
What if I don’t qualify? If you don’t meet all the qualification requirements, you cannot book the promotional package. We verify qualifications before booking specifically to avoid problems at check-in. If you arrive at the resort and cannot meet the requirements, you’ll lose the promotional rate and be required to pay the full retail price.
What happens if I skip the presentation? If you fail to attend the full presentation or violate any other term of the reservation agreement, you lose the promotional rate. You’ll be charged the full rack rate for your stay, and no money previously paid toward the promotional package will be credited. This is clearly stated in the reservation agreement.
How long does the presentation last? 90 to 120 minutes. Both adults must attend together. It’s a real product presentation — they’ll show you the membership program, explain the benefits, and make an offer. You can say yes or no. There’s no penalty for declining.
Is the $750 deposit a charge? No. It’s a refundable guarantee hold on your credit card — a temporary authorization that blocks the funds but doesn’t charge them. The hold is released at checkout after you’ve met all the terms of your reservation agreement.
Can I book for someone else? No. These packages are non-transferable. The reservation name must match the guest checking in.
How far in advance do I need to book? Travel must occur within 30 days of booking. [VERIFY — confirm current booking window policy]
