Isla Mujeres Ferry Guide

Isla Mujeres is one of the easiest Cancun day trips, but the ferry still controls the day. Pick the right terminal, protect your return time, and the island becomes much easier.

Best use case

Use the ferry for Playa Norte, golf carts, Punta Sur, beach clubs, town walks, and easy island dining. From the Hotel Zone, Isla Mujeres is often a cleaner day than a long southbound Riviera Maya excursion.

What to confirm

Confirm terminal, departure times, return times, weather, sea conditions, parking or taxi logistics, luggage rules, and whether your group needs golf-cart rental. A ferry day is easy when the return is planned before you leave.

Best resort fit

Sandos Cancun and Krystal Cancun are strong fits because they keep you in Cancun. Sandos Playacar and Caracol guests can do Isla Mujeres, but the day becomes longer because they must first transfer north.

Official source

Use Ultramar routes and departures for current ferry planning, then build the island day around the route that best fits your resort.
