Bavaro Adventure Park
A 100-acre adventure complex 10-15 minutes inland from the Punta Cana beach corridor, with 10 attractions on a single ticket — zip lining, monster trucks, paintball, climbing wall, freefall tower, mountain biking, horseback riding, and the obligatory ecological-and-cultural trails. The all-in-one adventure day.
The all-in-one adventure park 10 minutes from Bávaro Beach
Bavaro Adventure Park is a 100-acre adventure complex on the inland edge of the Bávaro corridor, 10-15 minutes from most Punta Cana resorts. Ten activities under a single ticket — zip lining, monster trucks, paintball, climbing wall, freefall tower, mountain biking, horseback riding, an ecological park with native fauna, and a culture trail through a recreated Taíno village. It’s the busy-day option for groups, families, and anyone whose travel partner has already done the catamaran-and-cenote routine and wants something different.
The park works on a half-day or full-day pass system. Half-day gets you 3-4 attractions; full-day gets you everything. Lunch is included in the full-day pass.
What’s actually included
Zip lining (Eco Adventure). Twelve platforms, longest line is 750 meters, runs through a mix of forest canopy and open clearings with views toward the coast. Modern dual-cable system with brake-equipped pulleys; staff handle the speed control so guests can hands-free the line. Maximum weight 250 lbs. Suitable for first-timers — the park rates this as easy/moderate.
Monster Trucks. A 4x4 buggy track through a 5-km loop — sand, mud, water crossings, and a few intentional hill obstacles. You drive yourself with a guide vehicle leading the way. License not required (private track). Two-person buggies available; minimum age 16 to drive.
Paintball. Standard CO2 markers, a built course with bunkers and barriers, 100 paintballs included (more available for purchase). Group games are the default; you’ll be matched with whichever group is going next.
Bungee / Tarzan Swing. A 25-meter freefall tower with a controlled-descent harness — not a true bungee, more of a Tarzan-style arc with a soft catch. Fast, intense, over in 15 seconds.
Climbing Wall. A 12-meter outdoor climbing wall with multiple difficulty routes from beginner to advanced 5.10. Top-rope belay with park staff.
Mountain Biking. Guided 5-km loop on the property’s interior trails — flat, beginner-friendly, takes about 90 minutes including stops.
Horseback Riding. A 60-minute guided ride through the park’s natural areas. Walking pace, family-friendly, suitable for first-time riders.
Ecological Park. A short interpretive walk through native Dominican vegetation — guided by a park naturalist who explains medicinal plants, fruits, and native bird and lizard species. Easy 30-minute loop.
Cultural / Taíno Village Tour. A recreated indigenous Taíno settlement with replica thatched huts, demonstrations of cassava preparation, and a brief introduction to pre-Columbian Hispaniola. 45 minutes guided.
Splash Park. Smaller water-feature area with fountains and a wading pool — included in the kid-focused half-day passes.
Pricing
- Full-day pass: $89-119 per adult depending on season, includes 7 attractions plus lunch
- Half-day pass: $59-79 per adult, choose 3 attractions
- Kids’ pricing: Roughly half adult rate; some attractions have age minimums
- Transfer add-on: $20-30 round-trip from Bávaro/Uvero Alto resorts
The full-day pass is materially better value if you have the energy. You’re realistically going to spend 7-8 hours at the park to do everything; half-day passes feel rushed for the price difference.
Who it’s for
Good fit: Families with kids 8+, groups traveling together, anyone who’s done the cenote/catamaran/Saona circuit and wants a different day, energetic travelers, multi-generational trips where everyone wants something different.
Bad fit: Couples on a quiet beach honeymoon (this is loud and family-heavy), pure beach lovers (you’re spending the whole day inland), and people whose primary trip mode is “lounger and book” (the park is the opposite).
What to bring
- Closed shoes. Required for zip lining and the climbing wall; recommended everywhere.
- Athletic clothes. You’re going to sweat. The park is humid and active.
- Sunscreen + hat. Half the park is in open sun.
- Cash for tips. Activity guides are not on the included gratuity; $5-10 per major activity is standard.
- Phone in waterproof pouch. You’ll get wet in monster trucks and possibly the splash park.
- Bug spray. The forest sections have mosquitoes, especially in late afternoon.
How to get to Bavaro Adventure Park
The park is on Carretera Verón-Bávaro, the inland road that runs parallel to the coast.
- From Dreams Macao Beach Punta Cana: 25-30 minutes south
- From Breathless Punta Cana (Uvero Alto): 30-35 minutes south
- From Bávaro Beach hotels: 10-15 minutes inland
Resort concierges arrange transfers as a package add-on. Independent transport: taxi runs $30-50 round trip from most Punta Cana resorts.
Get the full-day pass if you can
The half-day pass at $59-79 looks like a deal but it forces you to pick 3 attractions out of 10 — and the park is a 25-30 minute drive from most resorts each way, so you're burning an hour on transport for half a day on-property. The full-day pass at $89-119 includes everything plus lunch and lets you actually use the place. Unless you've got a tight itinerary, full-day is the value.
